So TwitterMoms and Parents connect have done this great contest called Momfinitions. Basically you post the unique words that come into existence when you become a parent.
Here are mine:

Coffee Shuffle (caw-FEE SHUF-el) v. The time in the morning when you have given the kids their breakfast and you are trying to drink your coffee but one of the kids need something. So you jump up, give them whatever it is and go back to your coffee to immediately jump up again to take care of something else (this gets worse the more children there are) and this repeats until your coffee is cold. This also happens at meal times, or anytime when you are trying to get something done.
Also see: Meal Hopping

"So I had to nuke my coffee again this morning because I was doing the Coffee Shuffle"

Remote-a-fier (RE-mote A FI-er) n. The random remote control that doesn't go to anything that your baby can't get enough of and will ignore all other toys available. Warning, if the remote actually works, they find this even more entertaining as the change the channel or play with the volume much to the chagrin of all older children in the house.

"Oh the baby is crying again, hand him the remote-a-fier"

Diaper Bomb (DI-per BOMB) n. The inevitable result of dressing your small child up for pictures, a family engagement etc. and you are over half way to your destination. The baby has an explosive bowel movement which leaks up the back, down the legs and all over the seat and you when you take them out of the car.

"Oh man! The baby just dropped a diaper bomb. Please tell me we brought an extra change of clothes!"

Unidentified Foreign Substance n. Otherwise known as U.F.S. The inexplicable substance that appears on children's clothing 2 minutes after you get them dressed.

"I just put that on you! What is that U.F.S. on your shirt?!?"

Aw-vangelical (AW-van-GEL-ical) adj. The way your child looks while sleeping just before they wake up and start running amok.

"Isn't he darling? He looks aw-vangelical!"

Ok those are my Momfinitions. Check out the contest at ParentsConnect.com or head over to twittermoms and I hope you enjoy them as much as I had fun writing them. Wish me luck in the contest and leave a comment on what you think about them, or if you have your own feel free to share!
